Ordinary pain

The name of this play is very interesting, "Normal People", which means ordinary people like us. When I first watched it, I almost felt that the title of the show was ironic, so special Marianne, beautiful but withdrawn, conceited but lonely. Such a gentle Connell is smart, motivated and shrewd. How could it be "Normal People".

Then I thought of myself, of my incompatibility with my friends around me, of my sudden decision to give up attending class reunions and stop renewing my circle of friends. I am such a lonely person who likes to be quiet. Suddenly I lost myself in acting as an interesting and gregarious person. I became interested and very tired.

I always feel that when the camera gets closer and closer to a person, his/her life is extremely complicated. No matter how strange people are, it is possible to be understood. No matter how ordinary people are, they will have so many profound experiences. We all have similar pain, a little sparkling place, doing so many things wrong, and tirelessly seeking love.

The heroine’s family is rich, beautiful and smart. She feels that all the good things are in sight, but she has an indifferent and gloomy family. Marianne doesn’t like her classmates in high school, so she never tried to blend into it. Correspondingly, Marianne was also affected. Everyone's rejection and unfriendly treatment made her life more difficult.

The male protagonist Connell is very popular in high school. He tries his best to be a favorite and trusted object of teachers and classmates. He never expresses opinions on anything, and he is very knowledgeable about interpersonal communication. Although the family situation is not good, my mother is very considerate and tolerant.

I think the character of the heroine and heroine is greatly influenced by the family, and the way of being in the world also has a certain relationship with the financial situation of the family.

Connell and Marianne are students in the same class, with the same grades, but their personalities and popularity are completely opposite. But in fact, the two of them are very special people, and they have similar tastes. Such two people are attracted to each other and walk together slowly, which is actually very normal.

Connell is so gentle, he always seeks Marianne's advice no matter what he does, and apologizes first no matter what he does wrong. When they first got together, there were a lot of ai scenes, but the shots were very beautiful,,,,/cover your face/. There are a lot of body parts exposed, but it doesn't make people feel pornographic. It may be that both people are in good shape, and people always feel that they are watching those nude oil paintings in the Middle Ages.

Connell didn't want his schoolmates to know that he was dating Marianne, for fear that he would become an isolated person. Although Marianne expressed understanding, she would be a little bit sad. When the classmates in the school insulted Marianne face-to-face, the actor sat next to him and listened quietly. When someone at the prom acted on the heroine, the actor did not stop him. Although he understood very well, he was so sorry for the heroine. Ah. The interpersonal relationship that the actor has always maintained in school is actually very fragile. He said "fuck off" to Banhua during the prom. Not only did Banhua ignore him, but everyone began to mock him. In order to be a "normal person" to integrate into the group, he invited Banhua instead of Marianne to the prom. Marianne was heartbroken and didn't go to school until the graduation exam.

But in fact, everyone knows that Marianne and Connell are together. Thinking about it, no one knows this kind of thing. In the small classroom, Connell always turned his head to look at Marianne sitting by the window. Connell’s mother has always known that the employer’s daughter is staying at her home after school. The town couldn't hide anything at all, but Connell treated Marianne that way.

This is how the high school article was revealed.

Leaving a familiar town and coming to a city like Dublin, Connell did not have the ability to do well in interpersonal communication like in high school. I guess it may be because of the interpersonal relationship that needs to be managed, or because of the inferiority complex brought by economic conditions. Connell goes to school during the day, and stays in the room to read at night. I have become a completely different person from high school. I don’t know why. At this time, Connell is not as glamorous as he was in high school, and his eyes are always gray. He is very similar to Marianne in high school. Although his personality is still gentle, he is tired of dealing with interpersonal relationships and is therefore very lonely.

Marianne has come to a completely different stage in her life. Perhaps leaving the family makes Marianne feel that her life is respite, or she may have left the town and came to the city to see that more different people have finally found her own group, or it may be because of the high school. The pain made Marianne decide to join the group. Marianne's eyes in high school were always so sad, she became a little relaxed when she was in college, and she felt much happier as a whole. Her family background obviously contributed to her interpersonal relationship. Her wealthy friends often gathered in her mansion in Dublin to hold parties or talk about literature. The boyfriend she associates with is very similar to Connell in high school, the kind of celebrity in the school who is enthusiastic about all kinds of social occasions and therefore shines. After Marianne met Connell in college, she said that she didn't want her friends to know about their relationship in high school. Marianne said, I feel very sad. In high school, I actually allowed you to hurt me like that. When I heard this, I knew that Marianne had really become strong and rational.

Even though she was still worried about the behavior of Connell High School, Marianne couldn't help but approach Connell and treat him well. Marianne invited Connell into her social circle.

But Connell couldn't integrate into Marianne's social circle. No matter how hard he tried, he still seemed so cramped. Connell is really growing. He used to be so cowardly when his high school classmates scolded Marianne, but now he is trying to integrate into Marianne's circle.

But they separated for the second time. Connell’s part-time job was suspended for two months due to the renovation of the store. He had no money to pay the rent. He told Marianne that he would not come to see her again in the summer. Marianne thought this meant breaking up, so she drove Connell away. Connell's original intention was that Marianne could keep him. The self-esteem of these two people is really too strong, like two hedgehogs, when others stretch out their hands, they must make a defensive posture. Although this separation is very strange, the main reason is that the two people are too similar, fragile and insecure. Both seem to be ready to separate at any time. Saying that there was no quarrel or explanation when they were separated, so decisive. Seeing this, I am really moved. Even if they are so similar, so close, and know each other better than everyone else, it is inevitable that they are misunderstood. People are really too lonely.

I really think these two people are too lonely. Even though they like each other very much, they are constantly in love. Maybe they really need company. But even though they were separated again and again and each had a lot of pain, Connell and Marianne had never quarreled, never said anything hard to each other, and never really disconnected. It feels that the two of them have been naturally switching between lovers and friends, perhaps because they need each other too much.

Later, Marianne began to have a tendency to be masochistic, in her sexual relations with others. Connell asked Marianne, I never knew you had this habit. Marianne said, I have never used this in my relationship with you, it is a very natural and enjoyable process. But now I need this feeling of abuse to numb or feel myself.

When I saw Marianne and Connell talking about their sex life, I felt very moved. I found that the relationship between Marianne and Connell was not only higher than friendship, even higher than love, and more like family. Connell doesn't care who Marianne has a relationship with. He wants to know why Marianne chooses to hurt himself. He feels pained because of Marianne's self-abuse.

When Marianne was living in Switzerland, her photographer boyfriend took a set of nude photos about SM. During the filming, she suddenly remembered an email Connell sent her. He said, Marianne, you are very, very good, and you deserve all the best, beautiful things. If you have been treated badly, it is not your fault. Marianne flashed these words over and over again and decided to give up shooting.

I have no way to experience Marianne’s pain. In the plot, I only saw a cold home and an equally indifferent family. The cause and effect of such a family must be a very sad story. I only saw that Marianne was willing to be abused because of pain, and it was really heartbreaking to use another kind of pain to eliminate this one. Regardless of whether Marianne really healed the pain in her heart because of Connell's email, or could not bear to see Connell suffering for her pain, I am happy that she can live a normal life without hurting herself.

Connell stayed in Dublin, like a librarian. Marianne has always been working in Switzerland. They are far away from each other and they have been in contact by email. They were able to meet later because of the death of their common high school classmate. Connell was very sad about the suicide of this high school classmate, and even tended to be depressed. I read this part of the plot very confused, because I don't think Connell has such deep feelings for this high school classmate. In my understanding, the death of a high school classmate is more like a fuse, allowing Connell to discover his own situation. He lives alone in a strange city that he does not like, with few friends, and no improvement in his career. His girlfriend also left him. He couldn't return to his hometown or endure the life in the city. The closest Marianne lived in faraway Switzerland.

When he collapsed the most, dark circles under his eyes were so heavy that he felt like he couldn't sleep all night long. He and Marianne video, Marianne asked her to put the computer next to the bed, and the two of them drove the video all night, and when they woke up in the morning, they said good morning to each other. It's really beautiful, it seems that no matter how much pain you can bear, as long as the other party gives him the power to heal.

Later, they all returned to the town, watched football games together, ate ice cream together, and spent the sultry summer together. When Marianne's nose was hurt by the gravity of her brother, Connell rushed over and threatened her brother viciously. I suddenly thought of Connell, a cowardly high school student. Over the years, he has grown up not only with Connell's character, but also with Marianne. Both Marianne and Connell have become adults, able to resist damage and protect each other. They love each other, from youth to maturity and stability, time is connected into a long line of affection.

Connell and Marianne show amazing similarities at different stages of their lives, love each other very much, always hold each other, and will not fall into the abyss at the most painful time in life. Keep pushing the other person forward, I know you are the best, and you deserve the best. Connell said that he did not like the city and could not study alone in New York where he knew no one. Marianne knew what Connell wanted more, or what Connell said was the most important thing and what had to be overcome. .

In the end, Connell, encouraged by Marianne, decided to go to New York to study for a Master of Arts. Marianne chose to stay in Dublin to live. I believe this is a good arrangement. Marianne's friends are all in Dublin. She doesn't want to live alone anymore, she wants to be with her now. Connell's heart desires and loves literary writing. He needs an opportunity and also needs to find the extraordinary self-confidence and brilliance that he once was. Marianne said in the past that Connell can do anything to her, and she is also willing to do everything for Connell's pleasure. Now she chooses to live in her favorite city instead of spending time with Connell. Marianne chooses to put herself first in her life. One, I think this is the best growth and sound personality. Separation and reunion are relative terms, and I look forward to more stories in their lives.

Going back to the title "Normal People", there is a lot of emotion. This is the life of ordinary people, growing slowly with hidden pain, becoming inferior due to one or other reasons, going to more and more distant places to feel, and encountering various scenery and friends or lovers on the way. Divide and reunite with your best friends, stand still in the face of dreams, embrace others or be given, and slowly find a life situation that suits you.

Everyone is roughly like this, and they can't escape the tight net of life, but if you have a gentle friend like Connell, life may be more tolerable. (Just kidding~)
