Is love enough for marriage?

To be honest, Just married is a big Hollywood movie from any point of view, nothing new. It should be considered a Romance Comedy, but it's not as romantic as Possession, and not as funny as A guys thing. Except for the heroes and heroines who are indeed handsome men and women, it is notable and lacking.

However, this film does raise a question: Is love enough for marriage?

Two young men who fell in love at first sight got married. But neither the man’s good friends nor the woman’s family are optimistic about this marriage. Their honeymoon in Europe was a series of disasters. First they were injured on a plane, had a car accident on a snowy night, spent the night in a dirty hotel, and finally went to the police station in Venice. And this is largely due to the lack of understanding between the two people. After returning from Italy, they began to wonder if their union, as others said, they are too young, and marriage alone is not enough?

Let’s take a look at people’s different views on marriage in the film; the

heroine’s mother: "I know you love him, but sometimes love alone is not enough to maintain a marriage. You need to be mature enough to know how you are. ,你想什么,和他是什么的". ("I know you love him, but you know sometimes it takes more than love to sustain a marriage. You need to be old enough to know who you are and what you want and who he is”.) The

heroine’s father: “Marriage is like a business investment. Its long-term validity is best established calmly”. (“Marriage is like a business investment. Its long-term viability is best established unemotionally.”)

The actor's father: "Sometimes my mother and I love each other. Sometimes we have to work hard to maintain. You can never see those hard days in a photo album, but those photos record you from one happy moment to another Happy moments." ("Some days your mother and me loved each other. Other days we had to work at it. You never see the hard days in a photo album, but those are the ones that get you from one happy snapshot to the next.”)

Maybe the words of these parents are old talks. But they are indeed representative. Everyone has a different understanding of marriage. In the end, the young couple reconciled and they are ready to face their future together. Although they don’t know what the future is. Maybe love alone is not enough, but as the heroine said when she answered her father, for marriage, "At the very least, we should love each other." ("Bottom line, daddy, we love each other.)

When I saw the heroine in Love&Disasters, I fell in love with it. Although Just Married is a pretty ordinary comedy, Murphy's performance in the movie is still very brilliant! So cute~

Happy friends, watching me cry unknowingly, so sad. A person silently took a paper to wipe.

  • Sarah: [crying on wedding night] Tomorrow my parents are going to know I'm not a virgin anymore!

Tom: You haven't been a virgin since college.

Sarah: Yeah, but tomorrow they're going to know for sure.

  • Tom: So, everyone thinks we're crazy for doing this, huh?

Sarah: Since when do we care what people think.
