"Breach" tells the true story of how the FBI brought Robert Hanssen, the biggest leaker in the history of American intelligence, to justice. Oscar winner Chris Cooper plays Hanssen, and Ryan Phillippe in "Crash" plays Eric O'Neill, a small soldier. Other cast members include Laura Linney and Dennis Haysbert, who played President Palmer in "24".
The director is Billy Ray, who is a screenwriter. This is the second film directed by Ray, but his directing skills are quite mature. From the very beginning, "Breach" tells the audience who the bad guy is and what his fate is. The movie does not have the gunfire action of general intelligence films, but it is still wonderful with a slow fire stew, without the name of a thriller. This movie is a bit similar to the men’s versions of "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset", because the dialogue between the two men takes up most of the film, but the film has ambushes everywhere, which makes people look forward to. I was also worried about the turbulent waves that would suddenly appear in the flat ocean.
Chris Cooper is the soul of this movie. His superb acting skills fill the entire screen, making the audience like a rookie agent in the movie, having to stare at him.
O'Neil is a newcomer who has just joined the FBI, and Hassen is a senior official who is about to retire. Although the FBI knew that Hanssen had continuously sold state secrets to the Soviet Union in the past fifteen years, it had never obtained relevant evidence. So the FBI arranged O'Neil to work under Hanssen, hoping that the rookie could catch the flaws of the old bird. With extraordinary courage and wit, O'Neil succeeded in exposing Hanssen to flaws that were almost impossible to expose.
If "Breach" has any educational implications, then this movie taught me three things: First, don’t do things that are sorry for your ancestors (like betraying state secrets, but it’s okay to talk about gossip between friends in private). ). Second, don’t underestimate the naïve-looking newcomer, because, third, the naïve can really eat the three bowls of men.
