The person to be rescued has been rescued, and the plane is right in front of him, and he has no idea why he is going on an assassination mission. Could the assassination of an SS major really do anything for the landings? I am skeptical. If the person was carrying secrets stolen from Britain, or a traitor like Gu Shunzhang who knew a lot of secrets, an assassination would make sense. But the assassination in the movie is a bit baffling.
However, the performance of the girls in the movie is really admirable. In my impression, the French's descriptions of World War II are lighthearted with a little dark humor. Kind of like the stupid Japanese devils we described before the Cultural Revolution. For those girls, this movie was quite cold, and later I even hated the ghost captain who had to perform a shit mission.
