—Indifferent, cruel, arrogant, ridiculous.

Human nature is always human nature. Those emotions, justice, injustice, pathos and human states that can move and shock people the most can always find their corresponding properties in human nature. On the surface, the film discusses many social issues, such as class contradictions, the morality of the media, the arrogance of government officials and the trade-off between face and interests, etc., but in fact it shows the indifference of human nature.
The media are indifferent, they just want to do ratings; the audience is indifferent, they just want to watch enough news; the police are indifferent, they don't actually care about the safety of the hostages; the government is indifferent, decency and face are everything.

Before the criminal committed the crime, no one cared about his demands and the justice he sought; of course, after he became a terrorist, no one really cared about his grievances. Even the gentlest male protagonist, he started out for the ratings, and then he was helpless when he was bombed and his ex-wife was taken hostage. There are some groups in society, no matter how painful or humiliated they are, there is no way to really speak up and turn over.

In the film, the son of the low-level worker got the bomb, so he got the weight to negotiate with the upper class. Although he still failed in the end, at least he fought. But in reality, they will never have the chance to resist. So don't think this movie is cruel, the movie is just a movie, the real cruel is this society.

You can't help but think of the recent and more frequent terrorist and violent attacks in China. Many people shouted, it was absolutely not like terrorists bowing their heads, they should be suppressed with severe means, and their demands would never be listened to... In fact, I want to say that those terrorists who really commit crimes should be dealt with severely, but if they do not face them squarely The cause of crime, terror incidents will only increase. Because you face it squarely, or don’t face it, the root cause of social contradictions is there. Wrong, it will only get worse.

You can't help but think of the public opinion that's been boiling over these recent horrific events. How many rumors are there on Weibo, WeChat and other platforms? How many people follow the trend and pray for blessings? How many people take the opportunity to scold like a dog that smells shit? Not scolding the government for incompetence or scolding some ethnic minorities, fanning the flames? How many people are taking advantage of the fire to find a sense of existence, spreading rumors, cheating, clicking, forwarding, and replying, lest the world be in chaos? The irony is that this movie can't show the ugly face of the society, and it is already so wonderful. The social drama that each of us plays, but I don't know how many stars are enough.

=============================== That

's all about the plot.

The subtlety of this film is also reflected in the fact that the story all takes place on the first floor of a building, and even the male protagonist stays in the same studio all the time. But even so, it does not make people feel cramped and small, because various TV pictures broadcast various exterior scenes, including the bombing of bridges and buildings.

Also, the plot setting is excellent. As a radio host/television host, how can the actor be closely associated with terrorist incidents? By way of live and scoop on the voice of terrorists. How can an audience empathize with a human being? By substituting the hero's identity and position, and then substituting into the ex-wife who is a hostage. In the end, what does the hero's despair show through? By his act of pressing the explode button.

The various conversions of lenses and perspectives, the conversion of live TV footage, camera footage, monitor footage, and handheld cameras, etc., are really smooth. The large close-up of the face and hands is also good. The rushing soundtrack does a great job of creating tension in the audience.
There is also a detail that I appreciate very much. After the male protagonist put on a suit temporarily, he changed a tie with a different color from the suit... Actually, this is not a big detail, but I was researching suits recently, so I think it's pretty awesome. .

Finally, as a fan of David Fincher and of "Fight Club", when you see the ending, you will definitely think of the end of "Fight". Perhaps, when people are desperate to a point, many things that they have held on to and cherished before will become irrelevant.

  • Yeong-hwa Yoon: Why me?

    Park Shin-Woo: Still, I thought you would be different. You're all the same. That's why you're dying. Then, I'll stand there and end things myself.

    Yeong-hwa Yoon: Please, Mr. Park... Please, please don't kill me. Please, sir! Please! I beg you! Please! Let me live! Let me out, please.

    Park Shin-Woo: Keep being like that. Groveling under damn bastards. Live like that, then die.
