Documentary like science fiction

Different from previous sci-fi films, this film is shot like a documentary and looks very realistic. The success or failure of aerospace engineering is mainly in the preparatory stage, and the film reflects this process well through interviews. However, until the emergence of Human 2.0 and the magical species saving human beings, it felt a little ridiculous. In fact, most of the one-and-a-half-hour movie is devoted to how to select people to explore black holes, especially Human 2.0. A lot of space is used to introduce the process of 2.0 generation. The later plot develops too fast, I personally feel that it is a bit off topic.

The huge spheres appearing all over the world are just to protect humans from the debris of exploding planets? Mysterious species prompted the birth of No. 2? Everything is too idealistic. The writer's mind can do it.

    Simple but unexpectedly beautiful

Like a pseudo-documentary... also a human 2.0 project.. similar to the feeling of "advent"..

The Beyond quotes

  • Gillian: Is everything that we don't understand, is it something to be feared right off the bat as a knee-jerk reaction, or is there space that we can make to contemplate that there could be forces out there that really are on our side, and that are part of helping us evolve?

  • [last lines]

Gillian: We were so obsessed with discovering new life when, on reflection, we have still yet to discover ourselves. We now have another chance to do just that.
