The Beatles Across the Universe

On February 4th, to commemorate its 50th anniversary, NASA transmitted the Beatles classic Across the Universe created by Lennon 40 years ago to outer space. This song happened to be written on February 4th, ten years younger than NASA. The news said: "It will be transported at a speed of 186,000 miles per second to Polaris, which is 2,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles away from the earth (how much is this, I can't count it:), and the entire journey will take 431 light years. In other words, The song will arrive at North Star in 2439 AD. By that time, this song has long been out of copyright protection, and alien friends can record or play back this song with confidence, without worrying about copyright troubles." (This paragraph The news is very humorous) February 4th was also named Across The Universe Day.
Across The Universe is the last album of beatles-actually released after the disbandment-the song in Let it be. This album is generally good. This song is also one of my favorite songs. Of course, the more famous one on this album is let it be, and the long and winding road that I like very much. It’s
half a year earlier . , A movie named Across The Universe was released. When I learned that there was such a film full of beatles music in the world film report of the film station, I was very extremely and quite expecting that I finally got the disc before the Spring Festival, and I was able to feast my eyes and ears.
This film is a typical Hollywood musical. Actually, I have almost never watched a musical before. It seems that I am a little disapproved. But watching it from this film gives me a very good impression. In the two-hour movie, there are 33 beatles songs. You can think of this movie as an MTV of beatlse songs. And the lyrics have obviously become part of the lines, and it is really difficult to combine so many songs and stories closely for the director. But if you are not familiar with the song, you may not have a deep feeling about the movie.
This is a story about a young man from Liverpool, Judy, who came to the United States to find ideals and love in the 1960s when he was full of war and peace, ideals and reality, love and play, music and marijuana. Almost all the names of the characters in the film come from beatles songs: actor Judy (hey Judy), heroine Lucy (Lucy in the sky with diamond), Max (Maxwell's silver hammer), Sadie (sexy Sadie), JoJo (get back) , Prudence (dear Prudence), Dr. Robert (doctor Robert).
The background of the story is the Vietnam War. The reason Judy left home to the United States was to join the war. But when he arrived in the United States and met a group of American hippies, his ideals and life changed. In fact, here, participating in the war became a reason to escape from reality. Judy was tired of the gloomy port of Liverpool and wanted to join the war. Max also signed up to join the army because of Lucy's empathy. Judy and Max went to New York to look for their ideals. Their landlord was a half-old Sadie (a bit like Mrs. Robinson among graduates). She sang in a bar, and she sang like Janis Joplin. Of course, Janis is much younger. The 1960s was also a period when the civil rights movement was on the rise. There was a riot against blacks in Detroit. After seeing off his relatives, JoJo went to New York alone to pursue his ideals. He met Judy and the others, and also met Sadie who was entangled with him. The image of JoJo is an imitation of Jimi Hendrix. There is a scene where Sadie changed JoJo's hair and clothes, and it is even more of a Jimi. JoJo and Sadie sang together in the bar, and each began to become aware of their true selves. Max's girlfriend Lucy also came to New York, but soon fell in love with Judy, Max and Judy almost turned each other's enemies. Several of Lucy's radical anti-war friends spent the whole day discussing how to start an anti-war movement in Lucy's apartment. At this time, Judy was very puzzled by their behavior, and strongly opposed their violent plan, and made a big fuss at a party and left Lucy. Lucy and the others are still engaged in anti-war activities, and finally at an anti-war rally, the police arrested them, and Judy, who passed by accidentally but wanted to rescue Lucy. Judy was sent back to England to continue his boring life as a dock worker. Until one day, he saw in the newspaper that several militants were killed in the bombing process. The worries about Lucy prompted him to make up his mind, bid farewell to his mother, bid farewell to Liverpool, and once again came to the United States. Only this time, he already had a clear and definite goal-to seek his love with Lucy. At a rooftop concert (also a rooftop concert that reproduces the beatles), he risked being expelled again, sang loudly, and finally met Lucy on the opposite roof.
The whole story is not really brilliant, but with music, there are many exciting passages.
The most impressive is a section describing the American youth joining the army and fighting in Vietnam. The background music is I want you (she's so heavy). Those robot-like production lines turn the youth into the same appearance and send them to the battlefield. In the muddy rain forests of Southeast Asia, a group of American soldiers staggered carrying the Statue of Liberty, and the lyrics that sounded at this time happened to be she's so heavy. A wonderful metaphor, in fact, I am afraid that it can be regarded as a simile: the Statue of Liberty is too heavy, and it is so difficult to export the American-style concept of freedom.
They went to visit Dr. Robert, where Dr. Robert, played by the U2 band leader bono, sang I'm the walrus, which was completely psychedelic. Later, in Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite, they encountered a magical circus. It was also during the regiment, maybe after the beatles ingested LSD, it was this kind of illusion. The caravan carries the feeling of men and women wandering on the road.
Because is a song that I like very much. In this section, Lucy and Judy hug naked. This look is the classic look of Lennon and Ono on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
Strawberry filed for ever, this section uses a typical montage technique. The picture of the strawberry thrown on the wall in Judy's anger crosses the picture of the bomb dropped by the US army in Vietnam. The bright red strawberry on the wall shed bright red juice, and the Vietnam war The scene was set off by the blood flowing out of the fallen American soldiers one by one. Then the strawberries became bombs roaring down, bullets, grenades...
Revolution, revolution. This is the most practical and illusory word of the 20th century. Lennon is against violence and against arbitrary revolutionary demands. So was Judy. In the singing, he yelled frantically at the revolutionaries and fisted at each other. Lucy chose revolution, and Judy chose to leave.
Across the Universe, illusion, everything is illusion, revolutionary illusion, love illusion, nothing gonna change the world, nothing can change the world, even with the mighty protests, even with the vigorous love.
A great movie, definitely the first choice and beloved of beatles fans. If I'm sorry, it's some songs that I like, like yesterday, Norwegian wood, Eleanor Rigby... Hehe, there are too many good songs, and it's hard to tune in, so let's do it.
