It's very depressing... The age of the movie is getting earlier and earlier, to be honest, I'm a little tired of aesthetics. After reading the reviews, I found a lot of people have the same idea. I can fully understand the inevitable and meaningful presence of women as accessories in these kinds of films, and in this oppressive atmosphere, it is natural to have feelings for a same-sex who can communicate equally and sincerely. But love does not only occur in such a situation, and even blindly focusing on external factors has weakened the love itself. What's more, even if you want to talk about the general environment, it is not impossible to talk about it now. But these are not aimed at this movie, but sometimes I want to see some modern plots... The movie itself is still good, although in terms of literary and artistic films, it is still more interesting in France.
Saw a comment, very true: "do i want to watch another lesbian drama period piece? absolutely not. will i watch it anyways and feel empty inside after? absolutely yes."
