Lu Chuan's "Kekexili" tells the true story of a mountain patrol and a poacher that happened in the no-man's land of Qinghai's Hoh Xil. I remember that when the film was broadcast, it caused quite a stir in the whole country, and people's attention and discussion have not only limited to the film itself.
The film is well shot, I like it, everything is so simple, real, natural, but very infectious and shocking. As I have been deeply puzzled and questioned about my own behavior recently, watching this film made me think more deeply...

Why did those mountain rangers in Hoh Xil give up their comfortable and comfortable life and come to Miaowu In the deserted desert, willing to risk their lives to hunt down poachers who kill Tibetan antelopes indiscriminately? The college student who graduated from Qinghai Normal University, why? That Liu Dong, who didn't open a rental car and left his beloved woman, why? The guy who lived alone in the guardian station for three years, why? Why is that Captain Ritai who chased the gunman to his death at all costs for several years? ...
The actions of these people, in the eyes of those of us living in big cities, are simply incredible and unbelievable.
The boundless Hoh Xil is so big and the environment is so harsh, it is a blessing to go in and come out alive. There are so many poachers who can’t be caught, even the state doesn’t care. Why are they meddling with their own business? Eat, or even kill yourself? Are they stupid? Crazy? Crazy?
Maybe their motive and purpose are very simple, just to protect their homeland and the beautiful Tibetan antelope. For most ordinary people, their values and outlook on life are simply chaotic and absurd.
So, what kind of life is the most beautiful? Who should we be? What life do you live? What is the purpose and meaning of life? ... When you continue to explore and ask, you find that you have returned to the most primitive philosophical proposition that has puzzled mankind for thousands of years.

Everyone's answer is different. As a result, there are all kinds of people and colorful lives.

Some would say that the tragedy of the Hoh Xil mountain rangers was entirely their own fault.
This can not be wrong, but it is not objective and fair. Because everything happens for a reason. Without those inhumane poachers, the hunt would not have begun, and this tragic story would not have happened. Moreover, you will find that before the misfortune comes, many occurrences, changes and results are not what they wished, expected, and could control. In the dark, everything seems to be doomed, and there seems to be some mysterious force controlling our lives, and even everything in the universe.
I believe that everyone has encountered unexplainable strange things, and often have a sense of fate that they can't help themselves. Therefore, it is called destiny.
Once people set foot on the life path they choose, they will go step by step according to the arrangement of fate, walk out of your own life trajectory, and move towards the inevitable end point. Maybe you will find that you are a road of no return. Under the trick of fate, you can only move forward without retreating. Perhaps, you may face many opportunities and possibilities to make a new choice and change your destiny? However, the world is impermanent and can hold the throat of fate, how many people can there be?

The second shock the film gave me was the bloody and cruel reality.
In Hoh Xil, the ghostly place with no grass and no people, survival is the first and surpasses everything.
In order to survive, the grazing Tibetans began to slaughter their families and became an indispensable backbone in the interest chain of poaching Tibetan antelopes. Can you say that they are not good people?
In order to raise funds, pay for the mountain patrol and the salaries of the brothers, Captain Ritai began to ask the team members to sell skins, "I know it's illegal, but there's no way." Can you say that they are also criminals?
When people are desperate to survive, all laws, ethics, morals, dignity, personality, conscience... are all gone. When the existence of the body and material needs are not met, all spiritual and moral values lose their meaning.
Look at those poachers who brutally kill Tibetan antelopes, if no one is rushing to buy sheepskins and making huge profits, will they take risks and slaughter innocent creatures frantically? If it wasn't for his own money and survival, would he kill one of Ritai's subordinates if he saw it? And those who buy sheepskins, unscrupulous traders driven by profit, and rich people who possess excessive possessions for vanity, are not swallowed up by selfish and greedy desires and distorted their minds. As long as these people do not curb their selfish desires, this chain of interests will not be lost for a day.
To this day, in the land we live in, how many people are still struggling to survive; they are tireless in pursuit of fame and fortune; they are unscrupulous in killing people by any means; Wander freely in your ideal home, dedicating yourself to the truth?
I believe that people have vocations and missions in life, and life is different in different realms.

After watching the movie, what are the answers to the questions that plagued me? I'm afraid I have to go back to real life to find it, convince myself to believe and accept it.
