Others are hell

If the relationship with others is distorted and corrupted, then others can only be hell.

In fact, for us to know ourselves, others are the most important factor in us.

The relationship with others, imprisonment and freedom, these are the three themes of the play

The hopeless nightmare is not on the surface, but in essence

every time you wake up from the dream, you are always vigilant, the war between the two. . .

What do others think of you and who you are?

A feeling of dizziness,

a long-lasting desire to be finally exposed,

hope to be seen through, knocked down, and even overwhelmed.

Every deceptive proverb, every false expression, every bitter

Suicide with a smile ? That’s incredible. You won’t do that,

but you can be silent and sit still, so at least you don’t have to lie.

You can close yourself and shut the world out

so that you don’t need to play any role, make any hypocritical expressions and gestures,

you feel that way, but the reality is cruel of

your hiding place and it is not airtight,

and everywhere life is full of fraud, you have to make reflect

nobody cares about you is telling the truth or lying,

that is What becomes important only in the theater

or even there is not

why there is silence, why not move

There has never been a movie that would make me inexplicably pay attention to and remember every shot. This is a very metaphysical film, including philosophy and psychology. My understanding is that an actor splits into two people, experiencing life and dealing with life.

Bergman’s experimentation with experimental techniques, the opening seven-minute video poems are extremely delicate, and the whole film tries to enlarge and project the subconscious fear on the screen, allowing the audience to experience an unprecedented kind of unease and fear in the subconscious. 9.2 points★★★★☆

Persona quotes

  • Sister Alma: At the hospital where I took my exam, there's a home for old nurses who were nurses all their lives and lived for their work and were always in uniform. They live in their little rooms there. Imagine believing so strongly in something that you devote your entire life to it. Having something to believe in, working at something, believing your life has meaning. I like that. Holding on tight to something, no matter what -- I think that's how it should be. Meaning something to other people. Don't you agree?

  • Sister Alma: He was married. We had an affair for five years. Then he got tired of it, of course. I was terribly in love, and he was the first. I remember it all like one long torment. Long periods of agony, and brief moments when -- your teaching me how to smoke reminding me. He smoked constantly. In hindsight it all seems so dreary. A real dime store novel. In some strange way it was never quite real. I don't know how to explain it. At least, I was never quite real to him. But my pain was real, that's for sure. But that was somehow all a part of it in some nasty way, as if that's how it was supposed to be.
