From the very beginning, I was prepared to face the tragic scene of the shattering of the sky and the separation of life and death. However, after the first few minutes of the shipwreck accident at sea, an old sailor with only half of his life left was tragically lost in the huge waves. Inexplicably, the film suddenly turns to the joyful and nuanced daily life of the seaside. There are thousands of tourists sunbathing on the beach, Yanxi who lives in a small restaurant, an old woman who babbles and swears, a little gangster who is idle, and a sunshine lifeguard boy who speaks a simple dialect. Scene after scene is either warm, funny, or trivial, the mediocre family life, the romantic love between a poor boy and a rich family daughter, the grievances between a middle-aged geological researcher and his ex-wife, if not for the tsunami warning interspersed by the geological researcher, I almost forgot it was a disaster movie.
However, although the first half of the clips describing daily life are a little longer, there are many Korean-style jokes inserted in the middle, which makes people laugh and cry, the tsunami part in the latter part is finished in a hurry after one or two tinkering, and the survivors continue to live their own lives after being sad. A small day, but this is daily life! There are so many joys, sorrows, ups and downs in life. The real and delicate portrayal of the main characters in the film allows the audience to see that they are ordinary and real people, just like us. In this way, when we see the crowd swept away and submerged by the overwhelming floods behind us, we will have a personal feeling, and the sadness and regret will be stronger.
After the disaster, life is still the same, but everyone has learned to cherish it. I think that's what a disaster movie should do. Gorgeous stunts, hysterical shouts, and disgusting horrors may make people feel a kind of psychological pleasure and shock when watching, but this shock can only be visual, and after a period of time, it will be like a Feihong walked like snow without a trace. Only the touch of the heart will be remembered forever.
