The plot is good, but it lacks...

I just came back from watching, the plot is still very good, the imagination is very rich.
However, it always seems to be too narrow. Maybe it's because there are too few characters.
And, what's the supporting role of the wizard on the poster? It just passed in a hurry.
Monsters, too, look too chilling~ scary, not suitable for children.

And although I watched it in the IMAX theater, it wasn't really that shocking. It is estimated that the expectations are too high, so I will feel a little disappointed.

But I highly recommend everyone to see it. . .
Regarding the plot, I know o(∩_∩)o...
everyone’s opinion is different.

    I'm sure it's a bit too children's film... I can't watch it anymore, I give up after 34 minutes

In the opening 10 minutes of the film, the director begins to release the "magic" that attracts the audience. You must know that the patience of adult audiences to watch children's movies is really limited, and I think the director also has a deep understanding. Next, the director was not stingy with the suspense of the film, and all of them were shaken out, but unfortunately the script of the film was still a little thin, and the shaking was just some leftovers left by others. Out of the director's affirmation, I give the movie a three-and-a-half star rating.

The Spiderwick Chronicles quotes

  • [Hogsqueal comes up with a plan to save Simon with Jared]

Hogsqueal: Okay, here's our plan. I will find a safe position over there and create a distraction with my stick. Then you leap out with your knife and finish the beast yourself. Oh, I like that plan. That's a good plan. I'm smart.

  • [Hogsqueal spits in Jared's eyes to give him the sight to see the goblins]

Hogsqueal: [Hogsqueal laughs to himself] Nailed him! I have given you the sight, a gift only a hobgoblin can bestow.

Jared Grace: [Jared wipes off the gooey spit] Oh, gross!

Hogsqueal: You're welcome. Now, let's go!
