——"Los Angeles Times"
Every time I watch "Saving Private Ryan", I can't calm down for a long time. I think of the recent anti-Japanese demonstrations and the dispute over the Diaoyu Islands. I think
the milestones of this war movie can help us explain a lot.
——Written
in the beginning of the film at the U.S. World War II headquarters, General Zhang Marshall, the general staff of the Allied Forces, learned that the four brothers of the Ryan family had participated in the war but had already sacrificed
three. So it was ordered to set up a search and rescue team to search and rescue the last Ryan who could not be reached in Normandy.
You can't imagine the sad look Ryan's mother had when she got three obituaries on the same day, and General Marshall decided to take
James Ryan out of the field and bring him back to his mother.
Captain John Miller, played by Tom Hanks, forms an eight-man search and rescue team to find Ryan on the front lines.
They have to break through the enemy's blockade chain and have experienced fierce assaults and street battles. They finally found Ryan, but two warriors had been sacrificed for Ryan.
Captain Miller in the play is a sergeant with firm will, tolerance and calmness. On the battlefield, he was calm and brave, and he was quiet and peaceful on the battlefield.
Maybe you also graduated from the military academy for him? The reality is not so, he was a teacher, he volunteered to participate in the fight against fascism.
There is a detail. Whenever a comrade in arms sacrifices, the captain will be extremely sad. He tries to control his facial expression, but his hands
are shaking violently. He could have been a good teacher, a teacher who teaches and educates people with a pointer , but picked up the gun...
At the end of the story, the captain found Ryan and told him that the situation took him away, but the sad Ryan disobeyed. He wanted to complete the final defense mission
with . The captain was moved by him and led his troops to fight together. After the fierce street fighting ended, the captain died.
Before dying, he pulled Ryan with trembling hands and said, "James, don't disappoint... everyone"...
In order to save Ryan, he sacrificed three warriors.
Years later, the old Ryan and his family came to the cemetery in Normandy, France, to pay homage to the soldiers who died here.
He choked in front of the captain's tombstone and said that
today my family is here too. They really want to tell
me . I don't know how it feels to be here.
I think about it every day. What you said on the bridge that day I
'll try my best to live my life,
hope it's enough
, hope at least make you feel that I've lived up to what you've done to me
Then there's the most touching scene in the movie Ryan looks at his wife seriously in
front of the captain's tombstone
Say, tell me i am a good man.
I think at this moment, Captain must be relieved that Ryan is bravely walking the path of his life.
Yes, in American culture. Family and character are very important.
The captain in the play did not ask Ryan to avenge him, but hoped that he would live well.
Because there are many beautiful things that only living people can do.
Ryan, did it, he has a family full of children and grandchildren, and a kind wife. The key is that he is also kind, and only kind people can
combine with kind people.
I think the writers also have a special meaning for Ryan in the 101st Airborne.
I have to mention that the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army is a heroic unit of the U.S. Army. It was a pioneer in World War I and World War II.
After World War II, the famous "Little Rock Incident" was made by the 101st Airborne Division.
When Arkansas in the United States openly boycotted blacks and whites from entering schools, but the governor of the state was under martial law and boycotted blacks.
Once again, the 101st Airborne Division was ordered to defend the rights and interests of black students. This is a glorious moment in the history of human rights in the United States.
The picture is correct, it's 101 again
.
It's Ryan's army. This time, they are fully armed not to fight but to protect black students and ensure
that they can enter the school normally.
I was wondering, what was it like for Ryan that the captain saved?
First of all, he is flesh and blood, he is the son of his mother, the husband of his wife, the father of his children,
and then he is a brave soldier, a patriotic soldier, in the face of the departure of his loved ones, in the face of those who can leave the battlefield Opportunity
chose to
stand firm.
More importantly, he is a good guy. A good lover, a good husband, a good father, a good grandfather. Because what he cares most about is that when he is
getting old , he most wants his wife to tell him that
you are a good person.
Finally, Ryan is a symbol of democracy, human rights. Only a democratic and human rights government will take into account
every family and every mother who has lost her children in the midst of war.
In peacetime, everyone is Ryan, and everyone has captain expectations. Are you letting down the fallen warriors?
Do you take good care of your family, do you love peace and oppose violence, do you refuse to give in to hold your ground,
do you fight for human rights and democracy?
The most important thing is whether you try your best to live your life.
My dear Mrs Ryan:

Nothing, not even the safe return of a beloved son, can compensate you, or the thousands of other American families, who have suffered great loss in this tragic war.And I might share with you some words which has sustained me in this long dark night of peril, loss and heartache, and I quote, "I pray that our heavenly father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the chrished memory of the loved and lost. The solumn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. Aramham Lincoln.
