The theme is actually crazy. Crazy for magic. I just really can't understand how someone can do anything for magic's sake.
The following is the plot reveal, if you don't like it, please be careful:
Bolton and Floren are twins, and they are crazy for magic. One of them is a little more sane, let's call it A. And the other is a lunatic, I call B. I watched it for the second time, and divided Bolton A and Bolton B.
It was Bolton B who caused the death of Angel's wife due to the mistake in tying the knot.
It is Bolton A who always says, "I don't know which knot I tie."
It was Bolton A who was knocked off by Angel with a pistol.
The finger knocked off is Bolton B.
It was Bolton A who fell in love with Bolton's wife.
It was Bolton B who fell in love with Angel's assistant.
Burton B was buried alive by Angel.
Every time Bolton's wife says, you're not real today, it's Bolton B.
Bolton B wanted to know the secret of Angel's magic very much, and Bolton A suggested that he give up.
Going to Angel's backstage to spy on the secret was caught, and the one who was finally hanged was Bolton B, so he finally said to Bolton A: I want to apologize to you for Angel's wife.
About Angel's teleportation magic: Angel obtained that "box" as a replicator. Every time he copied himself, it was very troublesome to have two of himself, so he killed one of himself every time. The reason he did this also included revenge on Bolton, which was not only to let Bolton die, but also to defeat Bolton completely. This is also the reason why Angel finally went to meet Bolton in prison in person as an earl.
The replicator, maybe some people can't accept it, I like sci-fi, although the story is very realistic most of the time, but this sci-fi element is the key plot. In fact, there are many such films now, such as "Mutant Heroines", which assumes an impossible thing and then tells the story in a realistic environment. If understood in this way, it should be easier for people to accept.
This movie is really weird. The frequent cuts made me uncomfortable. In the end, the deaths of Bolton B and Angel also made me very uncomfortable. These two are really crazy. Bolton A finally said: "You did something very terrible". In fact, Bolton B is not. Even Bolton B is still performing magic in the last second of his death, but this time he is paying with his own life, and his magic can't save him.
Bolton A is actually a very scary person too, and I think maybe it was the suicide of his lover that brought him back to his senses.
