feast of imagination

Always liked something so novel for future speculation. When human civilization discovers a certain level, infinite lifespan should be a technology that will be broken sooner or later. Compared with the time and space shuttle technology, I personally think that there is a real time and space interlaced authentication, which is a technology that is unlikely to break through. Back to the topic, when human beings have unlimited lifespan and limited reproduction rights, resources and space have become the main contradictions of society. The film offers a novel idea, using genetic biotechnology, using longevity as currency, and a unified regime to control the balance of population and resources. A wonderful idea, but it involves a developmental issue of human rights, class, and politics. Whether the ruling class is willing to set up this mechanism for itself, the struggle of the ruled class, the stability of the political system and other practical issues. Practically speaking, this movie is actually a feast for the imagination and worth watching.

Will Salas: I don't have time. I don't have time to worry about how it happened. It is what it is. We're genetically engineered to stop aging at 25. The trouble is, we live only one more year, unless we can get more time. Time is now the currency. We earn it and spend it. The rich can live forever. And the rest of us? I just want to wake up with more time on my hand than hours in the day.

  • Sylvia Weis: Congratulations, you've taken years off my father's life.

    Ulysse: Just like you do.
