Manchester by the Sea is a film about life and suffering, which are not contradictory or conflicting, and most of the time they coexist. The characters in the film have more or less struggled in the quagmire of pain. Some of them fell deep, some fled, but the same is, they all carried on with a muddy body.
Manchester by the Sea is full of realistic plots and light-hearted performances. The film's veiled rendition may disappoint viewers expecting flashy theatrical moments and exaggerated emotional conflicts.
