I rarely watch war movies because I am afraid of seeing bloody scenes. Although this movie is not bloody, the rare sea war scenes, especially the thrilling scene of S-33 being hit by an enemy submarine, shocked me.

Another thing that I think the film is more realistic is that the soldiers show tension and wince in the face of danger, including Taylor's initial nervousness and helplessness, such as the scene of crazy shooting when they boarded the 571 submarine.
