In May 2018, the news of the animation was announced on the 26th issue of " Weekly Shonen Jump "   . The film is produced by CloverWorks. The first phase will be broadcast from January 10, 2019 to March 28, with 12 episodes; the second phase will be broadcast from January 7, 2021, with all 11 episodes.

It tells the story of a female journalist Asakawa investigating the death of a female high school student Tomoko and classmates due to an unknown videotape.
