Heartbroken, Affleck managed to avoid the most exciting and deepest emotional passages in all the original books, leaving some basic running accounts to rush to and fro, not knowing what he was rushing. The movie time limit does not give more room for events and emotions to settle. It is even more sad to delete important and personally preferred emotions and images. Messina's performance was overwhelmingly outstanding. Thanks to Affleck for bringing his favorite novel series and characters to the screen, and I am reluctant to give a low score.
