Between love and hate. Terrence Malick became more and more obsessed with this emotional expression, like the image-poem of the soundtrack. The actors have less dialogue, and more whisper-like muttering, which adds to the subjective mood of the film. It's a good fit for this theme, but it's too picky for the audience
