      Enough can only be said.

For a perverted and curious movie, I can only say that it is perverted and curious enough.
But there is no need to over-interpret it.
The director expresses it too deliberately, not the way I like it.
What zombie flower, and listening to listening to make sentences, is it necessary?

      after watching

A bit fast forward. Cruel and disgusting feeling.

A film with a relatively strong metaphor, if the lobster still has a little fun, and makes fun of single people, then this film is completely terrifying and desperate.

Naked control. I haven't seen the interview article with the director. See a short...

Movies from an ecological perspective are not enough to constitute a metaphor for society as a whole—the setting of the movie itself limits the generalizability of this ecology. On the contrary, it shows a way of getting along with family members, but the correspondence between father and patriarchy is too deeply rooted in people's hearts, and it is impossible not to think of it. In terms of perception, "castration" (showing part of the body) and "suppression" (wide-angle seems to be used a lot) are always indicated, which I don't like very much.

Lanthimos constructs a field that is far from reality and self-justifying, like the film's opening: it has its own grammar, and it is horribly clean and white. From a psychological or sociological point of view, it shows the 'control' demands of the middle class (and by extension everyone) and the politics of the family as a 'desire machine'. And the use of discourse-power in linguistics as a metaphor to support this Ibsen or Platonic allegory is also indispensable

    Dogtooth quotes

    • Father: [subtitled version] Soon your mother will give birth to two children and a dog.

    • Older Daughter: Mom, what is a "cunt"?

Mother: Where did you learn that word?

Older Daughter: On a case on top of the VCR.

Mother: A "cunt" is a large lamp. Example: The "cunt" switched off and the room got all dark.
