In fact, the plot mode of "Die Hard Series" is the same as that of the later TV series "24 Hours". The stylized story seriously makes the sequel lack the vitality brought by creativity. Although the relationship between the characters in the second episode has not changed much, the larger scenes and exciting plot make the film more thrilling. The puzzles and Samuel L. Jackson's character added in the third episode made McClain no longer alone and became a major highlight of the film. The fourth episode after many years developed the story of saving her daughter. Although the conflict between the old antique and the new human being is very poor, it can be watched.
When it came to "Die Hard 5", the amateur exposure of the entire behind-the-scenes team was a mess. The film took a diametrically opposite route to the new version of "007", and went straight to catch up with the bad film "The Expendables". Old Bo plays John McClane, but McClane has never been able to come up with new things, and the old ones are too showy. The whole film lacks drama, and all kinds of self-righteous complaints are very weak.
The crappy jokes and the lengthy car chases and gun battles made people sleepy again and again and unable to lift their spirits. The film begins with a blunt account of McClane having a son who has nearly cut ties with him. But obviously, the reason "too busy to neglect my son" does not hold. Several of McClane's troubles were vacations, and he was suspended for trouble. In other words, McClain is actually a police officer who enjoys high benefits and various passive vacations. And when McClain saw his son, his son's disgust far outweighed his indifference, which made people feel inexplicable. It would make sense to assume that McClane's divorce from his wife resulted in a breakdown in the father-son relationship. The father-son relationship problem that the director pursues excessively and the reasons that cannot be justified make the line of father-son relationship seem inexplicable.
The handling of action scenes is also not very influent. After the opening, there was no tension in the car chase scene despite numerous crashes. The super calm McClane is like driving a bumper car in an amusement park, showing off too much and even making people feel sick. The presence of Russian military vehicles was indeed a bright spot, but the confrontation between military vehicles and civilian vehicles did not show anything that broke the audience's expectations and failed to impress. The final confrontation with the military aircraft is also too much to show off the "undead" blood of the McClanes and his son, which seems to be seriously lacking in the diaosi spirit of the series. McClain's brilliant idea of smashing glass with bare feet and fighting gangsters has disappeared.
The passages in the film are also not enough to flow. McClain clearly went to Russia for his son, but he kept saying "I'm just here for vacation". All kinds of pretences and show-offs make people suddenly feel that the once very Northeastern man McClane has become a cute and immortal type that can make people vomit. The scene where McClane teased and hugged his son was a bright spot, but the reconciliation between the two was so sudden that it was inexplicable.
The lack of screenwriters was not made up for by the director. In contrast, "Mission: Impossible 4" handled it very well. The story of "Disc 4" is also not complicated, but the director is very good at creating atmosphere. The director level of "Die Hard 5" is obviously very low, seriously below the level of third-rate TV drama directors. The blackened colors are also incomparable to the blockbusters, and the color adjustment is not as good as the most unpopular American dramas.
