real WWII

I didn't expect too much before watching. But after watching it carefully, I realized that this is precisely the best World War II movie ever made.

What this film reflects may be the true portrayal of World War II... a bleak and sad world with cold colors that lie in ambush everywhere. Just like the vast and monotonous desert in the film, in this era, it's like everyone is imprisoned in the desert, confused and unable to find the direction and don't know where is the real support.

In this era, there is no real right or wrong, only an instinctive choice in fate. You can choose to believe in hope, you can choose to believe in love, you can choose to believe in the promise of your lover, you can choose between husband and wife and love. There is no real winner... There is only constant loss and constant remorse in the efforts to go to different destinations, and finally at the last moment of life, calmly and fearlessly let go of everything.

"My darling, I've been waiting for you. How long is a day or a week in the dark? The fire is out, I'm so cold I should have dragged myself outside, but the sun is out. I'm afraid to put the light Wasted on pictures and writing these words. We will die, we will die! We will die full of the love that our lovers and our people have tasted, take our lodging bodies, and finally die as cold as a glacier... …the fear deep inside, like this broken cave. I want it all to be imprinted on me. We are the real kingdom, not a world painted on a map with the names of the powerful, I Knowing you'll come and take me to the House of Winds, that's what I've longed for, with you and my friends. Wander through it, an earth without a map. The lights are out, and I leave my last words in the dark ."

The male protagonist's eyes are cheap and dim, and gradually lose consciousness... In the end, it is as cold as a glacier...

The heroine you thought was a soy sauce? ? ! If you really want to talk about the unmeasurable love that crosses all borders (including national races) in the context of war, don't use cheating as a springboard. No matter how flexible the moral scale is, you will lose the life of your original partner. .

The English Patient quotes

  • Katharine Clifton: Will we be alright?

    Almásy: Yes. Yes, absolutely.

Katharine Clifton: "Yes" is a comfort. "Absolutely" is not.

  • Katharine Clifton: This - what is this?

    Almásy: It's a folk song.

    Katharine Clifton: Arabic.

Almásy: No, no. It's Hungarian. My daijka sang it to me when I was a child growing up in Budapest.

Katharine Clifton: It's beautiful. What's it about?

Almásy: Szerelem means love. And the story, well, there's this Hungarian count. He's a wanderer. He's a fool. And for years he's on some kind of a quest for... who knows what. And then one day, he falls under the spell of a mysterious English woman. A harpy, who beats him, and hits him, he becomes her slave, and he sews her clothes, and worships...

    [Katharine starts hitting him]

Almásy: Stop it! Stop it! You're always beating me!

Katharine Clifton: Bastard! You bastard, I believed you! You should be my slave.
