Literary version of the end of the world

While watching The Melancholia, I fell into an awkward state of being asleep and awake. The whole film is full of depression and hysteria, from slow to urgent, and with the help of the soundtrack, the audience seems to be standing in the shadow of a huge sadness.

Personally, I prefer the protracted wedding in the first part. The bride's swaying and empty eyes perfectly interpret the melancholy. The film is full of stamina, almost tragic.

But maybe the way things end, as Eliot wrote, not with a bang, but with a shush, in a way that's flat to the point of nothingness.

Such a movie is easy to get mixed reviews. Those who like it will call it the most literary disaster movie, and those who don't like it will think it's just the director's obscenity for the end of the world.

However, it's no exaggeration that Dunst can win another best actress.
