Bright colors in the dark

After watching "Edge of Darkness" in the middle of the night, I couldn't help but come up and write a few words.
The role played by Mel Gibson will not be mentioned, the focus is on the role of Jedburgh. Jedburgh's first appearance was in the basement to meet with the senator's staff (?) to receive "consultations" about national security. He claims to be in northern Virginia, so it can be seen that he is a CIA agent (the CIA headquarters is in northern Virginia, unfortunately the captioning team did not comment on this). The second time was at Craven’s house, revealing that his daughter had been killed as a “terrorist” and acquiesced to Craven’s secret investigation. Before leaving, he compared himself to the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes, claiming to be “fighting all day long.” Lanterns look for honest people". The third appearance was when he talked with Craven on a bench by the river, and further revealed the inside story of his daughter's murder and the entanglement in it. The conversation hinted that he was a character with contradictory personality in Fitzgerald's writings. Next, during the physical examination, I talked to the doctor about always dreaming of my deceased father calling him by name, feeling that I will not have many days to come (it has already hinted at my destiny). Jedburgh's last appearance was also the climax of the whole show. He discussed with the senator and his two staff (officials of the Ministry of Defense?) how to escape the scandal, skillfully compiled a set of "your script", and then drew his gun and killed the three. He was willing to be beaten to death by the guards.
The reason I like the supporting role of Jedburgh (the second protagonist?) is that this character is full of character, noble and restrained. The British accent and the heavy body appear to be noble and honest. The quotes in the conversation portray the integrity and loyalty to their duties, and also imply the contradictions and final choices in the characters' hearts. Finally, I watched the scene at the senator’s house five or six times. It was Jedburgh’s incisive display and teasing of unscrupulous politicians. The last sentence "I've decided what the country is...People who deserve better" and How domineering the next 3 bullets were!
It can be said that Jedburgh is the two roles that echo each other with Craven. Both of them are veteran public officials with 30 years of professional career. They are both upright, one is upright and persistent, and the other is forbearing and ready to go. Together, they form two bright colors with different spectra in the dark.

It was so much better than expected, and Mel Gibson didn't look that annoying anymore.

The subject matter of the story is really vulgar, it just exposes the old topic of the government's shady, but such a "vulgar" story is told so comfortably by the director, it seems to feel good, so those who give low marks are really strange . The powerful driving force supported by the great father's love is so movingly shown by Gibson's sophisticated acting skills, which is enough to move people. In addition, the photography of the film is very good, and many meaningful shots are worth learning and taste
