This is probably the weirdest black and white movie I've ever seen.
It may also be that I don't watch much, especially silent films.
The exaggerated expressions and body language of the characters in the film impressed me a lot, especially when there is a conflict in the plot, the development is not abrupt, which is a very special viewing experience for me.
There is also the acceleration shot of the character movement. I don’t know if the original movie is handled in this way. It looks quite emotional. Now I rarely see this kind of shot processing.
Because I don't know much about the director and the theme of the film, I think it's a religious-themed film that satirizes the future of human society.
The hints about the future society, such as robots, labor exploitation and lifestyle, are quite accurate, and I will consider watching more of this director's works in the future.
