Generally similar detective novels are read once and do not want to read a second time because of lack of curiosity

But the movie is worth watching multiple times

The plot can be said to be twists and turns

comply with that sentence

Plans never keep up with change

From the first step, there has been a change, and the male protagonists are cleverly resolved

Unexpectedly, there was a problem in the last step

Once suspected of the scissors that killed the old window

It's the male lead's intentional behavior

Contrasted with his threats to the old windows

The whole plot is not very rigorous, there are many loopholes

But as a movie of the 50s and 60s

Completion is pretty good

It's just that there are some breakthroughs... not far-fetched

But if the male protagonist is not in a hurry to spend those one pound

Is it not possible to be remorseful?

I can't say I like the ending

If the male protagonist finally sees through

And come home from the balcony

Although the reality should not be

But that's the ending I was looking for.

The wonderful reasoning turns the audience into an accomplice in the murder case, and when you react, you are already looking forward to the success of the murder with the characters. Hitchcock seems to have completely ignored the moral dilemma that both men and women have, and gave his wife happiness between an cheating wife and a murderous husband. Of course, the achievement is also Hitchcock's own role as a writer. The underwear in Grace's first red dress seemed to be showing. A classic for a single scene! It's so classic, it's just a scene with five actors, and it's a plot propped up by dialogue. The reasoning is rigorous and always captivating. The male protagonist is defeated by his own cleverness. If I never thought that it would be the key to SWAN. It's a pity that the protagonist only thought of this, and did not expect the detective to take advantage of it.

Dial M for Murder quotes

  • Margot Mary Wendice: Anyone would have realized he was dead. Just one look at those staring eyes...

Chief Insp. Hubbard: So you did see his face, after all.

Margot Mary Wendice: I saw his eyes! I can't remember his face!

  • Tony Wendice: What makes you think he came in by this door?

    Chief Insp. Hubbard: His shoes.

    Tony Wendice: His shoes?

Chief Insp. Hubbard: The ground was soaking wet last night. If he'd come in by the garden, he'd have left mud all over the carpet. As it is, he didn't leave any marks at all, because he wiped his shoes on the front doormat.

Tony Wendice: How can you tell?

Chief Insp. Hubbard: It's a fairly new mat, and some of its fibers came off on his shoes.

    Tony Wendice: Oh, but surely...

Chief Insp. Hubbard: And there was a small tar stain on the mat, and some of the fibers show that as well. There is no question about it.
