It may be because of age that lacks resonance for stories like Salinger or on the road. It’s hard to feel the charm of some books if you miss the age, and I think the same is true for movies.
From this point of view, the movie is still immature.
However, when the film was made, the director was only 25 or 6 years old, which is really amazing! But little changed later.
