There is nothing else but the sexy of the model worker

Why is such a script still nominated for the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay? I doubt the taste of the jury. As a biopic of a character, the plot is too bland and lacks tension to drive the audience into the plot. Then there is the theme of the movie, there is no moving place. No positive energy, no empathy, no touching story, and far from the audience. To be honest, after watching it, I don't even know why the director made such a story, and what enlightenment Jasmine's story has on the real world. But then again, Jessica Chester's performance is still very engaged. In fact, the skiing scene at the beginning was not bad, I thought it would be an inspirational story about Jasmine skiing. In the end, skiing was just an introduction, in order to elicit the story of the poker game. I was thinking about this biopic to show people that if you can use your brain, you can do a career too. In addition, athletes have had a really bad life. If they can't go to the sports field, they can only go to the bar to buy wine - "Jasmine's Game"

The script is beautifully written with clever wit and subtle echoes ~ Jessica Chastain's performance is impeccable but unsurprising...same as Sorkin's maiden director is just as safe but uninspired...it feels like It's a good American drama after watching two episodes in a row. XD

Sorkin’s own work—the series as Creator and the director’s film—are alike, full of liberal eulogies at the end, at first glance like big beads and small beads falling on a jade plate, and then another. But it tastes the same.

    [about Player X]

Molly Bloom: He played tight, didn't give a lot of action and always got his money in good, which means he was running the odds. In other words, he was playing poker and the others were gambling. And he won.
