When I saw the title, I thought it was a sensational movie describing life at the bottom of society, but after watching it, I realized that it was a fighting movie. It can be seen that the director has done a good job. I think the reason is that there have been too many fight movies in Hollywood in the past, and the audience has long been exhausted. So the director tried to create something new in this film. Start with the title, then the process. But after watching it, I feel that there are some changes in the branches, but I still haven't gotten rid of the box of fighting films. The concept of the theme is not high, and it is also a fighting film. Compared with "True Lies", "The Insider" and other attractive films, the layout of this film is still too small.
It's about Hatch, an FBI retiree who concentrates on running his own small home. Unexpectedly, one day, he encountered a couple of robbers who stole a little change from the family. Hatch did not resist, thinking whether it was worth fighting for the two. However, due to this weak move, he was looked down upon by his family, and the relationship between him and his son's wife gradually became estranged. Think about it and feel useless. So I inquired about the address of the robbers and ran to teach them a lesson. I didn't expect this shot to be unstoppable. On the way home by bus, I encountered a few underworld gangsters bullying people. So Hatch revived his former glory and beat six. First with bare hands and daggers, and then in a hot gunfight, Hatch's iron buddies and old father also came to join in the fun, killing the sky in the dark. The next episode is also understandable. At the end, Hatch bought a business and a house. When he and his wife were showing the house, the sales lady boasted: "This kitchen has everything you want." Hatch suddenly said: "Is there a basement? "The wife looked at Hatch worriedly when she heard this. It means that in the next episode Hatch will still be mixed in the rivers and lakes, it will be more popular, more boring, more unreasonable fighting, and more people will lose their lives.
In the first fight in the film, Hatch fights six punks alone, one of whom is the younger brother of Russian mob boss Julian. Naturally, there is no fear, and they go around to cause trouble and bully people. Hatch belongs to the nature of Lu Jian who draws his sword to help him and acts bravely. Strangely enough, before starting the fight, Hatch took out his pistol and ejected the bullets one by one in front of his opponent. Meaning: I can take care of you without a gun. The whole fighting process is neither like Chinese kung fu nor Western boxing, there are no rules. It's almost like a fight with Master Ma Baoguo. Although Hatch was barely able to deal with these few, he also suffered a lot of beatings, his nose was blue and his face was swollen. It can be seen that being beaten is also part of beating. One of them also picked up Hatch's gun and loaded the bullets he had just withdrawn into it one by one. If Hatch wasn't quick-witted, he would have been killed by his own pistol (of course the director wouldn't let the little bandits do that) ). In the middle paragraph, Hatch has these little thieves thrown out of the bus. Originally, this was a good opportunity, and Hatch also had a step down, but Hatch stuck to the end and got back into the car to continue fighting. As a result, I beat a few all over the floor looking for teeth. Then there was the shootout where the old FBI guy fought the Russian gangster. I don't know if it implies that the fighting nation is not as good as the FBI in the United States.
Before this shootout, Hatch made full preparations. First, he arranged for his father and buddies to prepare a lot of long guns and short guns, and also made many traps in the room, in order to deal with Julian, and also to let the audience have a good time. The unexpected scene is beautiful. Then he went to where Julian kept his money and burned all the cash. Looking at the volume of those cash piles, I estimate that there are three hundred million dollars. Of course Julian didn't do it this time. He said, "You can take my money, but you can't burn it." In the end, Hatch took a few sips of wine. There is a saying that "the temperament is when the wine is there, and the muscle strength goes upstairs", all to strengthen himself Son. Then he pretended to be calm and participated in Julian's concert, and then there was the subsequent battle.
After reading some martial arts novels, there are many stories of martial arts tycoons who retired to the arena in the twilight of the year. I think this may also be the norm. The same is true of Hatch in the film. When he was young, he was full of pride and skill. He wanted to be beaten. He was thinking about hitting the world with one punch and one kick. Who would have thought that Jianghu didn't take these little jokes seriously at all. I didn't intend for these people to rob the rich and help the poor to support justice. In addition to the loss, I slowly began to envy the idyllic life in the mountains and rivers. Not only Hatch, I heard that the national army generals who fled to Taiwan here are in their old age, and all these murderous kings have eaten fast and prayed to Buddha. But after living a stable life for a long time, those few blood vessels have to expand from time to time. Don't you see Hatch's father is living in a nursing home. If his son is in trouble, he will return to battle, staggering and trembling, showing his former style. And the fuse that Hatch reappeared seemed to be because of the family robbery, but it was actually the turbulent heart in Hatch's bones. Because what happened on the bus and the robbery didn't match up at all. This may be the different ideas that people have in different environments and at different times.
There is a scene in the film where Hatch, after killing someone, inserts a drinking catheter into the torn flesh of the dead man. The director probably wanted to use this to prove that the film was different from the usual fight movies. In fact, this is not good-looking at all, and I even suspect that the director has abusive tendencies. It also reflects Hollywood's consistent style of cruelty, sadism and violence. Looking at the whole, I feel that the director did not intend to make the audience think deeply after watching the film, just watch it lively.
