How to assign roles for two actors who are very similar

I have to say that the two actors in the movie starring pros and cons, I always think they play very similarly, but if the two are in the same scene, how the roles are divided is a problem. Last time it was a prison in the sky, and Cage was on the opposite side. For the frontal role of the camp, Cusack is purely frontal, but he has not been obscured by his id brilliance. This time Cage is positive, and Cusack is negative. I really think Cage’s positive role is really pleasing to the eye. Watching him play a police officer, I feel very comfortable. Cusack seems to be more plastic, and the negative is also good. Psychologically perverted but on the surface similar to a good person. It's just that the whole movie is a bit subjective, and the frequent visits to pornographic places make it messy. The narrative of the movie is destroyed and it doesn't appear to be very smooth. . .
