Such a good movie can be made in 1991! surprise!

There are a few things that left a deep impression on me: First, about the initial "When women cry and say no, they really don't want it", it's not a rejection but a real rejection. Instead, they were verbally insulted and coerced with violence.

The second is the confession of the waitress at the bar. On the one hand, it is the rare goodwill towards the same sex (male characters account for the majority); Get up (the two danced and drank together in the bar without leaving any physical evidence), the words here and the sudden shooting together made me understand why Louis said and did that in the first place, including foreshadowing about Texas. It didn't go into detail, but it felt like Louis had fought for it, and it didn't seem to get any results, so that's what the officer who looked better at the end said that (and what he said when he tried the robber boy). This also determines the end of the road, but the process of driving all the way is really cool, including the counterattack against the male driver who sexually harassed. They reasoned first, but it was of no use at all. When they saw this, they felt a sense of powerlessness. That's why they chose to run away in the first place.

The third is that Selma experienced sexual GC in a one-night stand after being in love and married for many years. I don’t know if it is considered feminism, but it reflects female consciousness and emphasizes female eroticism. And this part is still wonderful. From the point of view of the one-night stand itself, the man who ran away with the money was ignored. Selma's marriage itself is also a mess, a typical male lead outside and female lead inside, "are you looking for a husband or a father".

One star less because the plot feels a bit slow.

The biggest flaw is the sheriff, the sheriff, they don’t need the seemingly selfless salvation from the male world.

The best reference is probably the promising girl and titanium. Compared to the former, fellow Avengers Thelma and Louis still retain their tenderness, even when robbing and coercing the police, they are so polite, without having to imitate some imaginary nemesis pose, heavy makeup and coldness Capable, look like I do not know who to show. Compared with the latter, there is no need to put on some inexplicable settings, and there is no need to add large-scale pictures simply to scare the audience. At the same time, the two turned away from the male policemen who helped out and the dense gunshots, and they completely got rid of it. The discipline of both sides of the male-dominated society seems to have accomplished what Ti wanted to accomplish, the detachment of gender issues in a more decisive way. They don't have to be anyone, they don't have to have any "masculine" or "feminine" qualities, they become the best version of themselves and that's true freedom. In addition to gender issues, there is actually disdain for public power, not just for men, but for the entire system. That's why the black smoke spit at the police.

Thelma & Louise quotes

  • Thelma: Well, I've had it up to my ass with sedate.

  • Max: Uh, yeah, well, if she calls, just be gentle. You know, like, you're really happy to hear from her. Like you really miss her. Women love that shit.
