No matter from the theme of the story, the character setting, the art design or the color and lighting, the film fully restores the classical Victorian style. Its classic closed story structure combines the techniques of legend, goth, love, detective and even surprising stories. It is as evocative as the possession of many Victorian writers. But it should be noted that the story in the film actually took place in the American New World in the early 20th century, which was in full swing. Therefore, a wildness that escaped the shackles of history was brought into it. What we see is the familiar social nature. Suppression is mixed with self-made American forbearance, and the morbidity and fury accumulated and released in the end undoubtedly surpasses Wuthering Heights. The iconic monster design and violent scenes of the spinning top are even more blended with this morbidity and fury. They are imprinted with a power never seen before. The huge set produced by the profound artistic attainments of the spinning top has reached an astonishing height in terms of stylization, level of detail and deeper metaphors and imagery echoes in the narrative process. "Mother! " pales in comparison.
