1⃣️The Black and White Hair, the fairy tale symbol of Disney
The heroine Stella, also Cruella, is born with the half-half black and white hair that plays a role in telling audiences the different characteristics of her. Black symbolizes cruel and crazy, full of genius imagination. White shows plain and simple, almost occupied her daily life . When looking through so many movies of Disney universe, they all share one feature, ie the symbol of fairytale. If one of them lost this, its Disney sense may wear thin. Back to Cruella, its symbol is heroine's hair. The story hasn't shown us why her hair was like that, but we can understand its metaphorical meaning. And Emma Stone really fits in the strange-looking hair.
2⃣️New Illustration of a villain
I guess this movie is a signal which means the new start of old villains. Cruella attaches great expectation to its fashion theme and new illustration of an old story, and unsurprisingly it has done a good job. How did Cruella grow into a genius fashion designer and what had changed her characteristics are important questions to answer.
As a foil character, Cruella's birth mother is the key, also the root of anger and psycho. A secret, an industrious butler, a broken family and a mattress are four points stringing the plot. Based on an avenging motive, a new motive to discover truth is being triggered. A necklace called heirloom seems to be the only one clue, but namely Cruella's talent on designing is another one.
This movie version gives us a chance to probe into a villain's inner growth which contains tons of bitterness and conflicts. Anyway, as a product of Disney world, it's more attractive in fashion expression and music than in plot line.
3⃣️Fantasy of Punk and Rock Music
The adapted version of Come Together by the Beatles , the fashion trend of punk and so on are appealing to me. The tailor and owner of a vintage fashion buyer shop, Artie, is amazing and cool. Much luv to him. And the looks of different season shows are all based on the classic looks at the prime time of fashion.
