The Prince of Egypt is an animated film produced by DreamWorks in 1998, which is based on the biblical book of Exodus. This animation mainly tells that the pharaoh of Egypt discovered the Hebrews, and the number increased, and the pharaoh was worried that this would affect his rule. He ordered the Hebrew children to be thrown into the river to feed the crocodiles. In order to save the children from killing, a Hebrew mother put her children into a small basket and let them drift in the river. On the other hand, he watched his younger brother drifting. After seeing his younger brother drifting to the palace, he was found and adopted by the queen who was walking and went back. The queen named the child Moses, the protagonist. After that, Moses lived with the prince Ramses in the palace. No one knew that Moses was a Hebrew, but they thought he was the child of the queen.
Later, when Moses grew up, his relationship with Ramses was also very good, but one day he learned of his background because of his sister's tip, and he felt sad for the slaves of the Egyptian royal family to the Hebrews. After accidentally killing an Egyptian who bullied the Hebrews, Moses fled to the land of Midian to live. He harvested his love there, and soon the pharaoh died, and Ramses took over the position of pharaoh. But instead of alleviating the oppression of the Hebrews, he made it worse. It was at this point that Moses met God, who said that he would be empowered to take and liberate those Hebrews. After the plague of locusts, the plague of blood, and the death of the last first child, Pharaoh finally compromised and let the Hebrews go.

The music, songs, and pictures are all nasty and critical, and the atmosphere is magnificent! But my lack of concern for religion is destined to be difficult to understand the religious intentions expressed in the film. It just doesn't feel like much imagination and impact.

The Prince of Egypt quotes

  • Rameses: Tell your people as of today, their work load has been doubled, thanks to your God. Or is it thanks... to you?

  • Miriam: [singing] Many nights we've prayed, with no proof anyone could hear. In our hearts a hopeful song we barely understood. Now we are not afraid, although we know there's much to fear. We were moving mountains, long before we knew we could...
