"Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" (Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey) is a 13-episode documentary co-produced by National Geographic Channel and FOX Radio. Created by the original crew of "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage" hosted by Gen. A brilliant epic about how we discover the laws of nature and explore our cosmic space-time coordinates, from the tiniest to infinity, from the beginning of time to the distant future, swimming in the ocean of space-time. The narrative structure is somewhat similar to "A Brief History of Everything". It takes the history of science as the thread to introduce the process of human exploration of the universe and the discoveries obtained, and to understand ourselves and our position in the universe. To this day, Voyager 1 has sailed to the outskirts of the solar system, which is but a moment in the 13.8 billion-year history of the universe. Staring back for the last time as Voyager 1 flew past Neptune, Earth was just an unremarkable, dim little blob of light in the vast universe, where that's home, that's us. There, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you've ever heard of, everyone who's ever existed in this world, lived their entire lives. The more we understand the universe, the more we understand the insignificance and ignorance of human beings. No wonder some people say that studying astronomy can teach you to be humble. On the road of exploring the unknown for thousands of years, generations of scientists have made lifelong efforts. Even if they are ignored, accused, excluded, and persecuted, their pursuit of truth has never stopped, even in the dark ages of the Middle Ages. In the era, the light of human rationality still shines. However, there are always a few who can be remembered, and too many people are covered by the light of a few big names. When reading "A Brief History of Everything", I sighed from time to time, this is simply an unsung heroic hymn of the history of science, "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" also gave me the same feeling, there are many scientists I heard for the first time (I Dare to say a lot of people too), this show made me remember their names. Because of their unremitting efforts, they have refreshed mankind's understanding of the world, and they will always be remembered by history.
