Art or commercial?

Although I know that it is a European art film, I still cannot help but wonder, is such a plot and character setting aimed at Oscar? Because Oscar always favors the subject of disabled people, and this is a disabled person who loves musicals.
I will not talk about a few imaginary songs and dances. They are very imaginative, and they dance and sing very naturally. The execution part at the end is very similar to the "Murder Short Film" in Kieslowski's "Ten Commandments", The footage with a similar documentary nature constitutes a strong visual impact, which is simply unbearable.

After breaking the waves, Lars Von Trier once again abandoned professional technical methods to film. It seems to tell you that even if you don't rely on the "movie sense" of lighting and photography, you can still control the "movie", and you can still convey empathy through the characters. But compared to Polang, Manwu's shooting is more cruel. Some people can't stand the heroine's stupidity (but the police are actually more cowardly). But in fact fate made her unable to choose. He just insisted on constantly, and she would be weak and afraid. In fact, the movie has been dialing this issue up to the end. This is also different from some movies that are "selling miserable". ★★★☆

Finally finished the remaining two-thirds. I felt dizzy when I held the camera, and I didn't like her singing on the Bjork CD that Stefania gave me when I was in junior high school. But this character is really stupid. One star for Bjork's acting.

Norman: Apart from it's musicals! She said the American one - the American ones were better.

District Attorney: So, the defendant preferred Hollywood to Vladivostok.

  • District Attorney: If this relationship was made up by the defendant, then, can you think of any way she might have come to know your name?

Oldrich Novy: I was once well known in Czechoslovakia, because of my profession.

District Attorney: Yes, Mr. Oldrich Novy, what is your profession? Maybe that can give us a clue to why, why this somewhat romantic, certainly Communistic, woman who worships Fred Astaire, but not his country, why she might have lied and misused your name - make everybody think that all the money was spent on a poor father and not on her own vanity. What is it that you do?

Oldrich Novy: I was an actor. I made films - they were musicals.
