The hero not only has to face his enemies, but also the villain behind him

If according to Grandpa Mao's words, the enemy of the enemy is our friend, then it can be said that our opponent is also the friend of the enemy. So the sadness of the hero is that he not only has to face his enemies, but also the villain behind him.

Just like Kane in "High Noon" is such a lone hero. When he learned that Miller, who was full of evil, was going to fight back, Kane chose to stay. But all the people in the town and his wife, who had just been married for half an hour, chose to save their lives. He went out looking for help, and traveled all over town, except for a blind man and a fourteen-year-old boy who offered to help him, and all he heard were expressions of understanding and, at the end, words of helplessness. This is the reality of the hero, when he stayed to defend the town, the whole town was full of people, gradually the hour hand was getting closer and closer to noon, which is the day Miller came back, only Kane was left on the street figure of a person.

Finally, the gunshots rang out, and an accidental factor made Kane survive and turn the tide. He and his wife who came to him at the last moment killed the four villains, and the whole town poured out to surround them. . Kane dropped his proud badge and drove away from the shameful town.

Speaking of heroes, there are too many heroes in our history, and Kane thinks that our heroes have died, some of them died at the hands of the enemy, and some of them died at the hands of their own people, such as Yue Fei and others.

I wonder what it would be like if we were born in that small town? Will we help Kane, and only if a town of a few hundred people faces just four gangsters. If we were born in the Song Dynasty, would we fight against Jin with Yue Fei? If we were born a few decades earlier, just in time for the Anti-Japanese War, would we pick up guns and resist?

We won't, because our ancestors didn't, so they survived, so we have. We exist precisely because our ancestors were people who grew up in that small town. Don't think how great we are, all heroes die in our hands. What remains are the dynasties of enemies and villains, every dynasty is like this, and this is the legacy of our nation.

The more later, the less there will be resistance, so two Japanese soldiers can guard several villages, and the little people in those villages are our grandparents, or great grandparents. The same is true of their ancestors. The Northern Wei Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty, and the Manchu Qing Dynasty were all invaded by foreign tribes. Our heroes, those who could resist, have long since died.

If there is a war, there may be more people who will raise their hands to surrender to save their lives. If those people are our descendants, I will not blame them. Let's see what we have done. A few people have stood up to oppose it. Don't we all endure injustice, sin and oppression? How can we hope that our descendants will rise up to fight, rise up and resist, and if things don't happen to our own heads, we are all shameful and stubborn villains, This is our tradition.

This is also why autocracy will always go backward or even perish in the end. Or there will be a cornered person who will risk his life to raise his arms, and then lead a group of people who are better than dead and those who have been fooled to overthrow this autocratic rule, or we simply choose a democratic government instead of dictatorship!

Another interesting phenomenon in the film is that Western American films always like to walk on the street when they participate in gunfights. Isn't this the more obvious goal? Kane had to remind Miller before he shot him. This is very different from our guerrilla warfare. The soldiers we saw always covertly fight back first, pretend to be the first to sabotage, but even American bandits are walking on the streets and fighting openly.

That's probably why there will be no more heroes even if we win the battle!

I doubt the statement that "the time in this film is in step with the time in the real world": the three cowboys just arrived in the town and the clock rang, which means that it was exactly 10 o'clock at this time, but within a few minutes, the time became 10:3?, this is my proof! —— 2013.1.6 When the teacher explained the film, he said: "Later, all western films were influenced by this film." This is too absolute! "All→many/many", is this almost the same?

High Noon quotes

  • Judge: This is just a dirty little village in the middle of nowhere. Nothing that happens here is really important.

  • Helen: I don't understand you. No matter what you say. If Kane was my man, I'd never leave him like this. I'd get a gun. I'd fight.

    Amy: Why don't you?

Helen: He is not my man. He's yours.
