Uxbal is a father with a pair of underage children. He is on the edge of the black trade. His left hand receives money from Chinese black laborers, and his right hand bribes the police. After experiencing "Love is a bitch", "21 Grams" and "Babel", director Gonzalez suddenly gave up the narrative method of multiple clues that he was good at, and told a story honestly. Although there are many clues in Uxbal, the main line is still inseparable from the relationship between Uxbal and his ex-wife. It's feelings, not love, because the latter is too hypocritical for them.

Another main line in the movie is the entanglement between Uxbal and Chinese black laborers. This arrangement seems to be a bit too reluctant to emphasize Uxbal's unshakable conscience. But in the end, Uxbal was the last straw that crushed Uxbal in the world because of the poisoning of all the black workers because of the inferior heater. Although Uxbal has the ability to listen to the murmur of the deceased's death, he has countless worries when things come to an end. Life for him is difficult, not to mention the hasty arrangements before his death, which are even more chaotic and unsustainable. The director ends with some warm scenes, but he can't restore the reluctance and worry that he left at the end.
