Reflections on Chinese and American Educational Methods

It's been 20 years since the American movie "October Sky", and it is still a high-scoring movie when it is watched in theaters. The whole film is an inspirational film for teenagers. Compared with the education methods of Chinese children of the same age today, there are still many things to think about. In high school, was the teacher able to help the ideal child to work hard towards the goal and support him? Is there such a parent, and is there a group of friends who have the same idol as him? The video is there, and finally the dream came true! And if this is in the environment of education with Chinese characteristics, is there still room for dreams to come true? Maybe there is, maybe not, the three-point and one-line study life in the dormitory classroom canteen has long numbed most of the curiosity. The plot was bland and restrained, and it moved me again. I saw tears in my eyes when the little boy became an aerospace engineer when his dream came true.

This story is based on a true story and is closer to the original. Another version of the same story, "The Astronaut Farmer", was turned into a bad movie.

Roy Lee: They're also the only ones who get the girls.

  • O'Dell: God's honest truth, Homer. What are the chances... a bunch of kids from Coalwood... actually winning the national science fair?

O'Dell: That good? Well, why didn't you say so?
