"Lake Eden" has been lying on a dusty hard drive for a long time, along with more than a hundred other movies that I have wanted to see. A few days ago, I was alone at home. I didn't want to sleep in the early morning. I thought that I hadn't watched a horror movie at night for a long time.
Because it was marked too long ago, I have forgotten what the film is about. When I watched the name "Eden Lake", I was inexplicably preconceived. I thought it was a horror film such as ghosts, monsters, etc. The introduction probably didn't have much to watch. , I just started masturbating directly, and I was very happy after sleeping (it seems that something is not right).
Looking at it, it turned out that it wasn't. However, it was still right.
First of all, from a direct sensory point of view, this movie really hurts a bit.
One of the two most painful places is that the heroine ran barefoot and stepped on a raised metal pointed object on the ground. I watched this scene four or five times (I am also perverted.. .), the 10,000 grass-mud horses in my heart also ran back and forth four or five times, which was really painful. This kind of sudden pain without warning is really higher than watching a person cut off another person's limbs with a chainsaw. It is not a feeling at all to play a jumping machine with you and fall down. Unexpected stimuli output adrenaline and dopamine far more than the other.
The other part is actually not really painful, it should be regarded as a kind of extreme discomfort, that is, when the heroine hides in a trash can full of shit. This kind of "shit hide and seek" is actually found in many movies, and every time it can cause strong physical and mental discomfort in me without any accident, probably this is my weakness. Generally speaking, whether it's Shawshank's crawling through the long sewers, or the headhunting game with a toilet paper roll in his mouth to avoid a cold-blooded killer, or the heroine in this film holding her breath and diving for shit, after coming out of the shit, the characters will With a detached temperament of rebirth from ashes. It’s like the heroine stood in front of the mirror and looked at herself in the mirror after she came out. It’s really hard for people who haven’t hidden in shit to imagine what she was going through at that time (sounds a bit like I can, no, I can't).
However, if there are only stabs and feces, this film probably cannot be regarded as a mainstream film. This is not the focus of this film. The focus of this film is still on youth violence.
Juvenile violence is really a timeless topic, no matter how civilized society is, it cannot be avoided, and discussions about juvenile violence are endless. The factors reflected in the film are probably parental influence and peer coercion. Indeed, much of the root cause of youth violence stems from the family. In many uneducated social environments, parents who are often full of smoking, drinking, gambling, and swear words are also subtly affecting their children. Even if many parents are not themselves, neglect of children makes children more susceptible to the influence of their surroundings. However, this kind of violence is not necessarily the act of hurting people, and many of them also include surly and indifference in character. This situation is probably reflected in more adolescents. Many children in the film do not have the will to hurt the hero and heroine, but their surly and indifferent characters make them more vulnerable to coercion by others and become accomplices of violence.
This is almost always the case with youth violence, both domestically and abroad. I have seen the videos that broke out in China. A group of girls who seem to be no different from ordinary students beat and insulted a female classmate, and some people filmed and laughed from the side. In the later interviews, many people involved said that at first they thought it shouldn't be like this, but if they didn't follow suit, it would be difficult to integrate into the small group they were in, and it might even become a goal. Such vague or even non-existent values often make violence more reckless and intensified.
At the same time, the entire social environment is also to blame. The ambiguous attitude towards juvenile violence and the responsibility of guardians, and the lack of laws and regulations are all acting as accomplices from another aspect. Whether in Eastern or Western societies, almost like the teenagers at the end of the film, they can delete their past actions without any regrets, and it will not affect their return to life in the slightest. However, the people they destroyed and their lives will probably never be able to get back on track. Who else is responsible for all this except themselves?
In the final analysis, when it comes to the movie, this is a good movie that you are willing to have a good time, and you are willing to think about it. But it is very painful, and it is easier to depress after watching it, so choose to watch it carefully.
