To be or not to be, that is the question

This movie makes a deep impression on me.

What the Sea Inside discusses is that people do have the right to choose euthanasia.

I think Ramón is a brave and strong person, even though he is very sick. When he has difficulties, he is still optimistic. I admire his attitude to life.

The lawyer Julia tells him that she does everything possible to help Ramón. Once, Julia asks him,

why die?

Ramón calmly answers, death is my friend.

Everyone must respect the decisions of others.

Life is so much more. Without a doubt, Ramón has more love of life than normal people.

The person who loves me is the one who helps me end my life.

To be or not to be, that is the question.

This is not living with dignity!

Ramón thinks that life is sacred.

Living is a right, not an obligation.

Yes, life belongs to no one but himself.

To get closer to death, can you better understand the beauty of life

In the end, I cried when I saw it, and remembered a sentence: It is better to burn calmly than to live a life. Perhaps it is more dignified to choose such an ending in the end.

The Sea Inside quotes

  • Ramón Sampedro: The person that really loves me is the one that will help me die. That is love, Rosa.

  • Rosa: Ramon. If there's really life after death... I know this is going to sound foolish, but... Please send me a sign? Anything. I never was scared of spirits. I will be very alert. Waiting. Will you do it?
