Frances Ha--The People Who Really Matter Are Always There

People who are really important will always be there, just like "another dimension in the universe." In the midst of a large crowd, I'm chatting with others to socialize, but when I look back, the lights have dimmed. The other person across from her also secretly cast her gaze. That is her dearest person, because she trusts her enough, so there is no need to say more. You and I are watching each other.

Fran has a line that says, "I feel like I'm in Walden right now." The most lovely thing about this movie is that if the iPhone and Mac inside are removed, it can easily become a film from the 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s. So Fran's story, in fact, has nothing to do with this era but comes entirely from the person himself. Years later, we can all say, "I'm having a Frances Ha moment," because this movie is going to be, no, it's a "timeless classic."

Seeing a 27-year-old man who was worse than me, didn’t feel so sad on Sunday night.

I just feel that Sophie doesn't care so much about Frances. But the heroine is so stubborn, she is so beautiful, she has such a kind heart, and she doesn't have high material requirements. How can it be worse in the future? How could she not live?

Frances Ha quotes

  • Sophie: The only people who can afford to be artists in New York are rich.

  • Sophie: [about Patch] He's a nice guy... for today.
