This is a story about ideals and love.

Success is only when you are accepted by the world, and when you do what you really love.

When Frank is shaken by Jon and wants to perform music for people who are interested in him, or when Frank leaves his friends who are crazy about music, he finds that he can no longer make extremely talented creations.

Jon's arrival ends up ruining the world of this group of musical lunatics who don't ask others to understand. Jon is addicted to music and works hard to make good songs. Does he really love music, or does he want to be a star under the spotlight?

In the end, Jon finally found out that he was not from the same world as the franks. Frank and those lunatics could control music, and no matter how hard he tried, he just loved music.

Frank returned to his team, Jon left his dream.

Genius and mediocrity are two different tragedies; one is a bird trying desperately to live on the ground, and the other is a fish trying to fit into the blue sky. Frank just wanted to make music, but Jon wanted worldly success, but it turned out that the two couldn't be integrated, and neither of them could get the other what they wanted. This is the reality.

What is normal? What is quirky? What is sickness? After watching this film, I will let everyone ask these three questions over and over again. Frank is well-behaved, pure and sincere, very talented and understands love, he is just different from the mainstream crowd. The mainstream always sets the so-called normal standard in a way of alienating and marginalizing the other, but in this film, the deliberate attempt to transform Frank into a normal Jon is so ridiculously out of place.

Frank quotes

  • Frank: Yes... it's like an aviary! You're birds... rock. You're a cormorant... mana... moorhen! Clara - the owl, night-hunter, silent killer.

    [to Jon]

Frank: What have we got here? Lay an egg for me, little ginger bird. Lay an egg!

  • Jon Burroughs: He said I was cherishable, and he picked me to join the band.

Clara: You are fingers being told which keys to push.

Jon Burroughs: I push my own keys...

Clara: Ten little bits of bone and skin.

Jon Burroughs: And I'm perfectly capable of going to my furthest corners and composing music.

    Clara: Your furthest corners?

    Jon Burroughs: My furthest corners.

Clara: Someone needs to punch you in the face.
