The Social Dliemma

How do you wake up from the matrix if you don't know you're in the matrix

It's been a long time since the documentary was planted, and I haven't had time to watch it. why? It's because my attention is being divided by other social media.

As someone who has been online since elementary school, I grew up in the company of the Internet in my childhood.

When I was in elementary school, I just played ordinary games, Moore Manor, Gold Miner and various 4399 games.

When I was in junior high school, due to the remoteness of the school, coupled with the dual influence of the fixed school time and my sister's long-term occupation of the computer, I didn't seem to have any impression of what I played in junior high school.

When I got to high school, I used to play Tieba and Zhihu the most. Tieba, when I was a freshman in high school, I played a lot. I mingled in Tieba, and I didn’t participate in discussions. I just watched all kinds of posts and felt the colorful life in the posts. After the second year of high school, after I was introduced to Zhihu by Huahua Amway, I shifted my position and began to wander in Zhihu, reading a large number of posts and absorbing strange knowledge. At that time, Weibo was still in bloom, and Tencent Weibo competed with the current Weibo. Later, Tencent was defeated, and the entertainment position shifted to Weibo.

When I was in college, I spent most of my days lingering on Weibo and Zhihu. Looking at other people posting all kinds of news on the Internet, I have always been an absorber, good or bad, just take it all. I have always been quite reliant on social media, because without leaving home, various software will present the lives of hundreds of people in front of you. What a lot of fun for me, who was unconfident and had empty pockets at the time. Looking at the people in the post eating, drinking and having fun, although I can't feel the same way, I am also feasting on my eyes.

Since when did I start feeling disgusted with social networks? It probably starts with Dad's Douyin journey. Before Douyin, Dad's entertainment life was still very monotonous, watching TV or going out to play poker with three or two acquaintances in his spare time. However, since Douyin, his free time has basically been occupied by Douyin. Many times, when passing by the door, you will see that he has fallen asleep with headphones on, and the Douyin Divine Comedy is constantly being played repeatedly in his ears. As a result, there was less communication between father and daughter.

So, I began to reflect, what exactly do we use mobile phones for? And after all these years, what did I get from my phone? To gain knowledge? But the knowledge on the Internet is endless, and I accidentally become a little squirrel who loves to hoard. I have written an unknown number of articles and links, but never opened a second glance. To get new information? In the Internet age, it is much faster to obtain information than traditional media, but true and false information are mixed together, making it impossible for people to distinguish. To make friends? With the mask of the Internet, no one knows who the opposite person is. This kind of privacy makes some help come from the heart, but sometimes you don't know what kind of life the person who gives you advice on the other side has lived, what kind of life experience he has, and the advice given in this situation Does it really have real value?

I saw another side that mobile phones bring to us. People's attention is divided by one software after another in the mobile phone. As soon as you open your eyes, you have to pick up your phone. If you don't pick up your phone for a while, you will feel that something is missing. It's really unpleasant, but when I really want to try to put the phone down, it's not an easy task.

Nowadays, more and more information is released and collected by mobile phones. Without mobile phones, sometimes even basic work cannot be completed. The popularity of fast payment also makes us inseparable from mobile phones in all aspects of life. Controlling how long your phone is used has become difficult. At the same time, on social media, fresh news is being pushed all the time, making my fragile nerves tired.

After all, how can we live with electronic devices? How can we fight against powerful simulation models?

What I can do so far is:

1. Uninstall unnecessary software and keep only commonly used software

2. Turn off all push notifications, including small red dot notifications

3. Subconsciously control the screen usage time and prevent your life from being controlled by this electronic device

But that's not enough, I'll still be immersed in a false world of prosperity, cut off from the real world, and stay in that closed cocoon and enjoy that timely pleasure. I still have a long way to go.

Finally, it ends with a sentence from the documentary.

Choose to always choose yourself, this is another way of fighting

I have always been closer to Yuval Noal’s defensive heart against social networks. In his recent conversation with Tang Feng, Ms. Tang is closer to Bill Gates. Their trust in Code is law is based on their mastery of technology, which is slightly arrogant. Blindly. Humans are good at inventing and creating tools, but they cannot always use them wisely. When socialmedia was created, the attributes of tools are becoming more and more blurred. Connecting everything becomes binding everything. We are all trained automatically while losing our personal concentration. Donate time to create value for technology companies. I am used to seeing my neighbors give up tolerance and sarcastically target strangers, even if the other party just doesn't treat the cafe as a library to make noise. Most of us have forgotten our original intention of using social networks, we just can't stop, this is wrong, we have to introspect.

It looks like propaganda, although I agree with what it says
