The "Reformation" of Hinduism

I watched an Indian film "Oudi God" a few years ago. This film is not critical of religion, but of the corruption of religious institutions and the incorrect way of belief of believers.

The correct way of belief advocated by the director is almost the "justification by faith" proposed during the Christian Reformation. God is in everyone's heart, and everyone should read the Bible (Bhagavad Gita) by himself and understand God from it. Spirit, rather than being at the mercy of those priests (sacrifices) and listening to them fool around.

In the final analysis, it is a question of the classic right of interpretation. All religious institutions of course claim that they have the sole power of interpretation. The religious reform is that some people are not used to it. To democratize this power, the interpretation of the classics should be read and understood by everyone.

There is also the question of whether or not to practice idolatry. The director advocated that everyone destroy the icons, because since God is everywhere, why do you worship idols? Since God is in your heart, why do you materialize it into a sculpture? Therefore, idols should not be kept, lest those who were created would steal God’s authority in vain.

Remember this.
