'Icestorm': A 'very Kundera' film

I don't know why, I felt "very Kundera" after watching "Ice Storm", of course, this is also a momentary feeling. If you force the connection, you may be able to find some evidence in "Ten Years of Sleeping Movie Dreams". For example, when Ang Lee talked about "Diet Men and Women", when he talked about co-writing the script with Williams, he talked about the popularity of Kunming in Taipei at that time. Della, Williams changed everything related to Kundera in the script to Dostoevsky. Of course, this is only one of the very few mentions of Kundera by Ang Lee. Take "Ice Storm" as an example, Qiang La's words can be compared with Kundera's "The Unbearable Lightness of Life" and Mr. Cao Yu's "Thunderstorm" as an off-screen comparison. The issues of family relations, sexuality and politics explored in The Unbearable Lightness of Life are all filled with the narrative of Ice Storm; Mike's final encounter is similar to Xiao Feng in Thunderstorm.
