Have a beautiful beginning, can write a beautiful story, but not beautiful enough

As a pure passerby who likes this kind of fantasy story, I still open it and watch it less than watching movies. However, after reading it, it feels a little strange. (non-professional, will feel for myself)

I haven't read the text version of the fairy tale, so I don't know much about the original, but in terms of my own viewing experience, I always feel that it is a little bit worse.

The story begins with an overview of Dolittle and why Dolittle became like this. Okay, after Doolittle finished speaking, he started talking about the little boy. Oh my God, this is probably the story of a little boy who takes on the Doolittle mantle. I thought so anyway. But not. It's true that the little boy learned the language of Animal Gate and became Doolittle's assistant, but if we remove him, or replace him with a monkey, luckily, the film can go on, because he's not important at all. The film should describe Dolittle to express the kindness of the boy, but it deliberately weakened his existence, which gave me an inexplicable feeling.

The following three points gave me the most direct feeling. The first is that he slipped into the Queen's residence, where Doolittle temporarily agreed to him in order to protect her. Well... you probably know what I mean, but the film is a fantasy film, and this kind of plot setting is not too much of a problem. The second point is that the film wants to describe that the boy has the same qualities as Dolittle, but, throughout the whole article, except for the parrot who keeps saying how you are, it seems that it does not reflect any similarities between him and Dolittle. The only thing that can be seen is the same, I love animals very much! The third point is that on the island of pirates, the film is a family-oriented film, so the island owner is Dolittle's father-in-law, who is more kind. When Dolittle did more excessive things, he temporarily forgave him, Also gave him a broken boat. Just when Doolittle was arrested, his father-in-law was about to ask Barry the tiger to "talk" with him, so he called the little boy away. At the same time, if we remove the boy, the dragonfly can make sense if it goes back to report by itself, so the boy is weakened again.

Next is Lily, she is very important, because Eden is the island she found. But she has also been weakened. Except for a few scenes where the actor appeared, she has almost no sense of existence. If you don't believe me, think about it, do you have a deep image of that diary, what color is the cover, and what does the map look like? No more, after being robbed, there is no more, disappeared. Even at the end, I didn't explain the importance of Lily (I think it's about adding some memories or something), of course, this is just my idea (it's better to have a happy ending where she didn't die), maybe she is not something the director doesn't want to express .

A large number of No. 2s have been weakened, who will strengthen them? It must be the protagonist, Doolittle! What has Dolittle been reinforced? Anyway, I don't know, the whole Dolittle didn't give me any deep image, and Robert Downey Jr. gave me a strange feeling.

First of all his expression is uncomfortable, especially the close-up of his face is uncomfortable (plus a British accent?). The camera didn't give me the Dolittle I wanted and should have seen. Secondly, Dolittle's interpersonal and interpersonal relationships in the film are very direct, without thinking, without stories, and without depth. For example, Dolittle has helped the queen before, so he has a residence with Animal Gate; Dolittle didn't go with Lily, Lily died, so his father-in-law hated him; Dolittle studied with the villain doctor in Germany. By extension, the bear rescued the ostrich, and they became good friends; the parrot was Lily's pet; the orangutan fought against the tiger to save Dolittle (of course, compared with pulling the rope on the boat before and letting go), overcoming fear, etc. Part of the film can be finished one by one in simple sentences very quickly (so the film is short).

So the film came out, a film with no climax and no characters except Dolittle (animals don’t count as characters), in the poor editing, it gave people a fragmented feeling that the story just started and ended, cracked!

However, the film also has some advantages, it has a better story. Also, it is very suitable for children to watch, because it is relatively simple.

In general, I may be criticizing this film, and there is no professional evaluation. To sum up, it is - short, shallow, not bad, and confusing. I think if the story was more fleshed out, it might feel a little better.

Children's books are visually appealing? Orangutans who can massage? Look very attractive!

2.5 It’s probably the same PG-rated children’s movie you’ve watched as you haven’t. It’s not ugly, but there’s nothing impressive about it. Usually, this kind of tasteless food gives you a gray area. It can only be explored in terms of actor performance or form; in terms of art, it's okay, but in terms of actors, this is probably the most disgusting performance of Robert Downey Jr. in recent years, not because of the stereotype of Iron Man. (Actually, he is better at acting than other actors), but he already has his own unique way of acting, so why make him (or deliberately imitate) like Johnny Depp or Robin William What about comedy clowns like St. It seems that "Dolittle" will not be a good starting point for RDJ to open up a new way of play; in addition, Eddie Murphy's version of "Strange Doctor Dolittle" is relatively more interesting, while the RDJ version has more elements of the original fantasy and adventure, but Interpretation is relatively bland and tasteless.
