It is also a cross-racial, black-and-white plot. However, under this non-racial discrimination and a peaceful expectation, I savoured him carefully. I read differently, that Dale and Philip were mentors to each other, one wealthy but disabled, the other poor but healthy; they were honored and respected for each other. Because of Dale's appearance, Philip's life is full of joy. He walked out of the lonely city, opened his heart, embraced the world and life, and tried again and again to defeat his fears. Dale saw Philip's life and behavior, and became a responsible father, and his simplicity and kindness were vividly reflected. Alexander Calder's mobile is a plus, it fits the theme very well. When Uncle Hei said It's mobile, it's suppose to move, it was probably a stalk. Hahaha, Brother Hei must not know that this thing is really called mobile.

The Upside quotes

  • Dell Scott: [to Maggie] I'm not putting a straw in that man's drink and I'm not unpacking his luggage.

  • Philip Lacasse: Do you know about the DNR?

    Dell Scott: D and what?

Philip Lacasse: DNR. Do not resuscitate. It's something you'll have to agree to as my carer. Do you understand what that means?

Dell Scott: Like, I don't have to give you mouth-to-mouth if you're choking on your kumquat?

Philip Lacasse: No extraordinary measures if I stop breathing. Nothing.

Dell Scott: I'm good with nothing, man.
