To be honest, I really like watching Western historical films. However, after watching epics like "Braveheart" and "Gladiator", it is a bit boring to watch such a mediocre film. Some basic facts are unclear, some fights are inexplicable, the Irish king's sudden transition from crusade to appeasement lacks transition... it all turns my stomach on. As for love, there is no contagion at all, it seems to be love for love's sake. A film that could have been made very well was later abandoned halfway.
To tell the truth, these faults, let the editing take care of it, there is hope for remedy, but in this day and age, how many directors will stare at editing?
